Mobile Legends Women Invitational 2023 (or MWI 2023 for short), the biggest women’s-only Mobile Legends tournament in Southeast Asia, has kickstarted on Monday (6/2). This tournament is a collaborative event between KINCIR and Moonton.
10 women’s esports team from 7 countries in Southeast Asia have secured their place for this event. Countries participating for the competition are Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, and one Mekong regional (Laos, Thailand, Vietnam) representative. Among these teams in the lineup, Indonesia sent not one, but two teams to represent the country. These teams are Bigetron Era and GPX Basreng.

Match Format
This tournament begins from 6-12 February 2023, with group stages held online on the 6th and 7th, and the playoffs held in a hybrid system (both online and offline) on the 8th and 12th.
For the group stage, teams will be divided into Group A and Group B. Throughout this stage, each time will compete five times in a round robin format. The best four teams from each group will then qualify to the playoffs.
Day 1 of the playoffs will be held online on 8 February 2023. While day 2, which also include the grand finals, will be held offline on 12 February 2023. You can watch their gameplay live in person at Summarecon Mall Bekasi. The single elimination will be implemented for the playoffs. As for the format, it’ll use best of 3 for the quarterfinals and semifinals, and best of 5 for the finals and third place match.
