Hopes from the IWC 2023’s Casters for the Future of Indonesia’s Mobile Legends Ladies’ Competitive Scene

The number of Mobile Legends women’s tournaments held in Indonesia has seen a significant increase as of recent, like the IWC 2023 held by KINCIR just now. This thing hyped up the scene as well as helping the growth of it.

There are already numerous girls and women who made Mobile Legends gaming as their professional career path. This phenomenon is obviously related to the fact that the tournaments are held more frequently. It also makes Indonesia’s eSport teams gained respect of power within the Southeast Asian region. Some of these teams also brought home victory from numerous SEA-wide tournaments they participated in.

With the ever growing female competitive scene, the casters of IWC 2023 are having high hopes for its future ahead.

Abed Ansel hoped that Indonesia will continue to be one of the strongest countries in the ladies’ competitive scene. Such thing, he said, could become a reality. As long as there’s an effort from the players to maintain their consistency at play and not letting themselves being overtaken by the players and teams from other countries.

“I noticed that there are more and more women’s only Mobile Legends tournaments being held here in Indonesia, so hopefully we can make ourselves stay on top. (To achieve that goal) we got to maintain our consistency so as not to let (players and/or teams from) other countries smash us down.” Said Abed.

On the other hand, Thalia Limberly wished to see mixed tournaments, meaning a match between men’s and women’s team on the same match, being held someday.

“I really hope to see ladies team competing against the men’s. Like, for example, I want to see a ladies team (participating) in the MPL. Or for the ladies team to not being limited in the women’s only tournaments. For me, nothing is impossible as long as these professional players kept training hard.” She brought her two cents.

Finally. Gio Joshua pointed out the organization aspects of the tournament; he’s hoping for the organizers to provide women’s only MPLs in order to give these professional players more chance to compete.

“I personally paid more attention to the scheduling part. If there’s two scheduled MPL in a year, perhaps they can make room for the women’s MPL in between those two tournaments. Even if it’s only held once a year, it’s okay. The thing is to provide more women’s tournament for the next.” He concluded.
